Hi! My name is Ernest. I played varsity #2 singles and #1 doubles at Hart High School in Santa Clarita, California.
As a late starter with tennis, I went from serving underhanded at age 15 to challenging for the top singles spot on my lineup by senior year. That two-year metamorphosis was one of the critical moments in my life. I developed discipline, grew my self confidence, and most importantly learned that any goal was achievable if I put in the work.
As a coaching professional, I have worked at the Ritz Carlton hotel, Youth League Tennis and currently serve as the head tennis coach at YULA Boys High School.
I’m a 5.0 level player with an aggressive baseline game. My coaching philosophy is based on the premise of the "4 hour work week", namely that focusing on smaller, practical elements of something can often streamline the development of a skill. Sometimes it isn’t the amount of time on a task, but the specificity of the focus that leads to rapid improvement. It’s for this reason I teach my students smaller, more compact groundstrokes... like Stan Wawrinka or Andre Agassi.
I live in Mid-Wilshire with my wife, Lana. My long term goals are growing a real estate business and training a Wimbledon champion.
